Bobcats Lose to Houston

I really didn’t know how to title this one.  I started “Bobcats Lose to…” and then I couldn’t legitimately remember the team they played tonight.  I love watching Bobcats games.  Even all these losses, I’ve enjoyed parts of every single one I watched.  Tonight, I can’t point to anything that I enjoyed, except maybe for my sad, morbid fascination with Derrick Brown and his tooth.

All I can tell you is that it was a 30 point game for most of the second half.  6 or 8 points was as close as it got.  Houston didn’t play that well, but they won 107-87.  When I say they didn’t play that well, I mean they let the Bobcats get up to 87.

Derrick Brown, other than cracking a tooth, thus making me laugh and otherwise consider how great it would be to be and NBA’s team dentist, led the team in scoring with, is this right?  15 points?

The Rockets had 6 more offensive rebounds and were the victors in the turnover battle by 4, so, 10 more possessions = 20 more points than them Bobcats.  Pretty simple when you look at it like that, but of course, I’m over simplifying.

Each team had 5 players score in double figures, but the Bobcats 15 from D.Brown was trumped by 23 from Luis Scola.  The other 4 each had 10, the other double-figure guys for the Rockets were Goran Dragic with 14, Jordan Hill with 14, Dalembert with 12 and then Chase Budinger with 10.  That’s right, both of their centers with more than 10.  It doesn’t make sense because Bismack Biyombo played more minutes than any Bobcat.  Biz block shot, Biz play defense, Biz not let other center do good.  But no, it didn’t happen, not tonight.

Another loss, another night when the offense sputtered and the defense was incredibly ineffective.  25 more games or so and then the wait for the lottery.  That’s all we can think about as fans of the Bobcats right now.  That and maybe the trade deadline tomorrow.
