Charlotte Bobcats to be affiliated with Fort Wayne Mad Ants

Wane.Com says: “The Fort Wayne Mad Ants will become an affiliate for the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats league sources tell WANE-TV.

I’m not sure how D-League affiliation works, and I’m not too inclined to figure it out. Here’s how the rest of the story read:

“The Bobcats had previously been affiliated with the NBDL’s Maine Red Claws, but that affiliation came to an end last month when the Red Claws decided on a single affiliation partnership with the Boston Celtics.

The Ants will now be connected with four NBA teams – the Bobcats, the Pacers, the Pistons & the Bucks.”

The Mad Ants sported one of my favorite college players of all time last season, South Carolina’s Devan Downey, who helped do this:

    The gentleman in the photo is Kyle McAlarney, a three point sharpshooter from Notre Dame. He played with the Mad Ants during the 2009-10 season.
