Ben Folds Five, a rocking, indie, piano-centric trio from Chapel Hill, NC want to be the Charlotte Bobcats pit band… at least for a day, and it looks like that might just happen.
Front man Ben Folds tweeted as much Sunday evening, to the team, to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and to fans.
My band Ben Folds Five are from NC and would like to volunteer to be pit band at a@bobcats game this season

And the Charlotte Bobcats tweeted him back.

As of 10:45, less than an hour after the first tweet was sent out, the three posts had a combined 400 retweets.
The band released a new CD a few months back, and its single, “Do It Anyway” (which has a really sweet music video) is doing pretty well.
As far as high profile fans, the Bobcats don’t have many, so it wouldn’t hurt to let these guys entertain Charlotte fans for a game or two.
