Gerald Henderson scored 19 points, Kemba Walker had 16 points and six assists, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Still, the Charlotte Bobcats lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 93-108.
Ersan Ilyasova scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Bucks, who destroyed Charlotte on the glass with 59 rebounds to the Bobcats’ 45. Marquis Daniels was also crucial to the Bucks;
He scored 18 points on 11 shots and went three-of-three on three-pointers. The Bucks were hot from behind the arc all night. They shot six-of-14 and Charlotte went just three-of-11.
The Bucks also taught the ‘Cats the importance of free-throw shooting. Both teams shot 32 free-throws, but Milwaukee hit 26 of theirs and Charlotte hit just 18. In the long-term, those numbers might drag Charlotte’s near-the-top-of-the-league free-throw percentage down. In the short term, they were pretty much the reason the Bobcats lost the game.
Reggie Williams Hakeem Warrick and Bismack Biyombo went a combined 0-for-9, and MKG went just three-of-six.
It probably won’t be long until Henderson replaces Jeff Taylor in the starting lineup, now, after Taylor went 1-10 from the field and scored four points last night. Taylor has filled in quite well for Hendo while the former Dukie was out, but even if Taylor made half of those 10 shots last night, there’s just no argument to be made for keeping him in the starting lineup with Henderson healthy now.
The Bobcats will get their next chance at a win against San Antonio tonight in Charlotte
