The Charlotte Bobcats are desperate to end this 16 game losing streak. Coming off a loss Wednesday night to the Miami Heat, the Bobcats will travel to Brooklyn to take on Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez on Friday night.
This is not exactly a game the Bobcats are expected to compete in, especially since the Bobcats have not won in over a month.
However, the Nets fired Avery Johnson today, and maybe there is a possibility that the Bobcats can steal a win from the disheveled Nets.
In order to gain that elusive eighth win the Bobcats will have to keep Deron Williams from getting back on track. Williams has been struggling of late, but has a history of going off on the Bobcats. Last year Williams put up 57 points versus the Bobcats.
The Bobcats will also look to coral Joe Johnson, who has averaged 16.9 ppg so far this year. Brook Lopez is the last leg of the Nets “Big 3″, and he has averaged 17.5 ppg this year.
Former Bobcat Gerald Wallace is also an X-factor to watch out for in the game, and his hustle plays could make a difference in the game.
For the Bobcats, Kemba Walker continued his excellent play against the Heat with 27 points. Ramon Sessions also played well adding 19 off the bench.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist only played 22 minutes against the Heat, and the Bobcats will need him to play more minutes and be more effective if they want to stop this losing streak.
Lastly, the Bobcats need to get out to a fast start and not play from behind the whole game. Against the Heat before most people even took their seats the Bobcats were in a big hole. For a team that has been struggling a fast start is critical.
The Bobcats vs. Nets game tips off at 7:30 Friday night at the Barclays Center.
