The Charlotte Bobcats have lost a miserable 17 straight games. Somehow, they still have a better record than the New Orleans Hornets.

Can that record help the ‘Cats tonight?

No.

Can the Bobcats beat the Hornets?

Yes.

Here’s what needs to happen:

Kemba Walker has to produce the numbers that his averages suggest he should produce: 18+ points, six assists, and two steals.

Ben Gordon and Ramon Sessions have to score at least 25 points combined off the bench. Their averages suggest they should be able to do more than that. Any less, though, and the ‘Cats really don’t have a chance to outscore New Orleans.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has to play. He’s young, yes. He’s raw offensively, yes. He’s still one of the best players on this Bobcats team, and he cannot play fewer than 25 minutes in any game Charlotte wants to win. I’d like to see his minutes per game average pushed over 30, but that might be a pipe dream this season.

The Bobcats have to stay close in the rebounding game, hold the Hornets to under 100 points and not let Ryan Anderson hit 500 three-pointers.

Charlotte has been dreadful this year defending the three, and if Anderson gets hot, it will be impossible to slow him down.

Neither of these two teams is great. The Bobcats can beat the Hornets. They can get off this 17 game slide.

They just have to remember how to win.
