For just $653,356 this season, Jeff Adrien is becoming a great deal for the Charlotte Bobcats.

He and Hakim Warrick have really picked up the rebounding slack recently, and Tyrus Thomas has seen his minutes disappear.

Oddly enough, Roberto Gato suggested that happen a few days ago.

Since coming over to Charlotte through the D League, Adrien has averaged 3.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in just over 12 minutes per game.

His playing time has slowly increased, though, and in January he’s averaging three points and a solid 5.1 rebounds in just 14 minutes per game.

In Charlotte’s last six games, though, he’s averaged 17 minutes per game and scored 4.5 points to go along with a really impressive 6.2 boards per game.

The sample size is small, but this next stat illustrates just how important he can be to the Bobcats this season.

in the 10 games losses he’s played in, Adrien has averaged just 10.8 minutes per game. In wins that number jumps to over 17 minutes.

Again, the sample size is small, but Adrien is averaging career highs in everything except for assists and free-throw percentage.

His per 36 numbers with Charlotte are also some of the best he’s put up in his three year career; Per 36 minutes, Adrien is averaging 9.7 points, 13.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

I’m not suggesting he’s turning into some diamond in the rough super star.

He is definitely becoming a solid role player plucked out of the D League, though, and this Bobcats team needs contributions from almost every player on the team to win.
