The Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnel says Byron Mullens will play 10-15 minutes for the Charlotte Bobcats tonight against the Miami Heat.
And as much trash as this website has talked about 7-feet-of-smooth, we’re glad he’s coming back.
Charlotte is a putrid rebounding team, and an even more appalling defensive squad.
Mullens probably won’t (OK, definitely won’t) help sure up the ‘Cats D, but he will certainly make them a little better on the glass.
The only question is, as his minutes go up, whose minutes go down?
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is day-to-day, and he probably won’t be out too long.
So that means Tyrus Thomas, Jeff Adrien and Hakim Warrick will fight to keep their playing time up.
If you follow this website at all, you know we think Tyrus Thomas shouldn’t ever see the court.
For now, the Bobcats should give Thomas’s minutes to Mullens, and when 7-feet-of-smooth gets back to full strength, Charlotte should do everything it can to do to make sure they don’t take away minutes from productive pl;ayers like Adrien and Warrick.
We’ll see what happens as the game progresses tonight in Miami.
