The season is winding down, and tonight’s matchup between the Charlotte Bobcats and Milwaukee Bucks is a quintessential “what will you do with the time you have left?” basketball game.
Milwaukee is basically locked into the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs and a first round exit after four games with Miami. Apparently making the playoffs isn’t good enough for that team, and especially Brandon Jennings, who called out his coach for benching him.
The Bucks have lost seven of their last ten games, and only a few of those losses have been close.
They still have more talent than Charlotte, but the Bobcats have played slightly better than the Bucks recently; Charlotte’s lost just SIX of its last ten games.
Gerald Henderson has been playing out of his mind offensively, and Kemba Walker has been distributing the ball very well. Bismack Biyombo is becoming a little terror on the glass, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is coming alive.
None of that mattered in close losses to Philly last night and Detroit a few games ago, when Mike Dunlap inexplicably sat his hottest players in the fourth quarter with the game on the line.
It’ll be interesting to see how he handles tonight’s matchup, which could come down to the wire depending on how Jennings and the rest of the Bucks feel.
