The Charlotte Bobcats had their chances, but they couldn’t beat the Brooklyn Nets and fell 105-96.
Bismack Biyombo had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. He also finished with five blocks. Gerald Henderson also played well Saturday night. He dropped 22 points to go along with five assists. Josh McRoberts led the ‘Cats with 41 minutes but he could only muster six points on 11 shots. He was, however, the only Bobcats starter with a positive +/-.
Kemba Walker did not play well. He scored just seven points in 25 minutes, and only dished out four assists.
The ‘Cats were out-shot, but won most of the other statistical battles. They did lose the turnover battler, though, 15-7.
Charlotte’s biggest statistical loss came in the paint, where they were out-scored 53-32.
Believe it or not, Deron Williams did most of that damage, scoring 32 points with just six of them coming from outside. Reggie Evans dropped 14 points, and Brook Lopez scored 19. Combined, the two grabbed 25 boards (Evans grabbed 20 of them). Andre Blatche scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench.
The ‘Cats don’t have many opportunities to get to 20 wins the rest of the way. Three of Charlotte’s last five games come against Milwaukee, New York, and Memphis.
The ‘Cats need to win two of their last five to get to that 20 win mark.
