The Charlotte Bobcats head to Detroit tonight to take on the Pistons in what could be a crucial game for Charlotte’s march to 20 wins.
I hope you caught the depressing sarcasm in that line. Charlotte isn’t “marching” to 20 wins, so much as they’re desperately clawing at 20 wins.
And I’m not even sure they’re too desperate about it. They players are, sure. No player likes losing. But who knows what’s going on in the mind of Mike Dunlap and his bosses.
Should Charlotte be tanking? Trying to get as many ping pong balls as they possibly can?
How well did that work out for them last year?
Anyway… Back to that game against the Pistons.
Detroit is coming off a 111-104 win over the Cavs on Wednesday.
Greg Monroe leads the Pistons in scoring with 16 points a game, as well as rebounding at 9.5 boards per contest.
The most intriguing matchup of the night is Kemba Walker vs Brandon Knight. The two athletic point guards should put on a show chasing each other around and showing off their great ball-handling skills.
It’ll be tough for Charlotte to defend Monroe and Co. in the paint, but it could be equally challenging for the Pistons to matchup with Walker, and Gerald Henderson in the backcourt. Jose Calderon might not play tonight, and Hendo has been on a bit of a tear lately.
