The Charlotte Bobcats selected Indiana big man Cody Zeller with the fourth pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Zeller was selected most notably over Nerlens Noel, Alex Len and Ben McLemore.
Zeller went just two spots behind his Indiana teammate Victor Oladipo, who was selected by the Orlando Magic. The Bobcats were tied to a number of names throughout the draft process, such as Anthony Bennett. Bennett surprisingly went first to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Zeller marks the Bobcats eighth top-ten draft pick in nine seasons as a franchise. General manager Rich Cho reportedly was pushing for Zeller despite resistance from other decisionmakers in the Bobcats front office.
Zeller averaged 16.5 points and 8.1 rebounds as a sophomore at Indiana.
