Analysis:

The Bobcats are back at it tonight as they come off of a short turn around week, having just beat the New Orleans Pelicans last night at home 90-87. They’ve played four games in five nights, but get a nice week off after a tough match up tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies and their top ranked defense (94.5 PPG, 3rd in points allowed).

The Bobcats, who have the 5th ranked defense in terms of points allowed (96.9 PPG), have found some success on the offensive side of the ball as of late. The Cats are meshing well together on offense, especially the Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker combo. But they’ll have their work cut out for them tonight with a Grizzlies team that matches up pretty well. Jefferson, who has scored 25+ points in 8 of the last 10 games, will have to figure out how to get around the Grizzlies 7 ft defensive stopper Marc Gasol while Walker will have to deal with star point guard Mike Conley, who is having a career year in scoring (17.9 PPG) but is also coming off a recent ankle injury. Gerald Henderson and Josh McRoberts will also have their hands full, having to match up with elite NBA perimeter defender Tony Allen and one of the best scoring big men in the NBA Zach Randolph.

The Cats may have some added fire power tonight, if Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour are inserted into the rotation; they’re listed as game time decisions at the moment.

If the Bobcats can come away with the victory, they will have four wins in a row and achieve their longest winning streak of the season.
