'Make America great again' dress graces Grammys

The 25-year-old singer then revealed a red, white, and blue dress with Donald Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again" printed across the front in sparkly silver print.

Villa's look read "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN" down the bodice and featured red stripes and white stars. The collection of tunes also leapt to No. 7 on iTunes' top album chart, according to Fox News. Thank you to all of my supporters and fellow believers. As had happened prior to Donald Trump's inauguration as United States president, few musicians seemed to be on Trump's side. She also has a tab on the site that showcases some of her modeling work.

Villa, who is known for her eye-popping award-show outfits, explained via social media that her fashion choice was far from tongue in cheek - it was an unequivocal pro-Trump statement. Villa was even included in the worst dressed at the Grammy Awards.

In response to her critics on Instagram, Villa wrote: "Sometimes you just gotta be free to express yourself".

This is not the first time Villa has made a statement on the red carpet.

Andre Soriano was the designer of Villa's dress said that the anti-Trump hate coming from the left is overboard "crazy". Her Instagram profile lists her as a "Grammy Considered Artist" (and no, that isn't an actual thing) who moonlights as an actress and "Awarded Vegan Bodybuilder". "America is about immigrants", Soriano said.

"We have to bring this country back", he said.

Without solid numbers, it's hard to judge how much Villa's own album sales have leaped, but it's clear she succeeded in one thing: making a statement. I'm from the Philippine islands.

According to initial sales reports from Nielsen Music, the artist's album I Make the Static sold about 15,000 copies in the USA on February 12 and 13.

"Thanks you I hope you enjoy tonight's @grammyawards2017 and keep in mind to forget your problems and focus on your future!"
