Square Enix Releases Final Fantasy XV Spring 2017 Update/DLC Trailer

According to Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata, Square Enix will be collaborating with Machine Zone - a smartphone developer known for the heavily advertised Game of War, on a Final Fantasy XV game.

A range of new FFXV DLC content is being developed by Square Enix, which will focus on providing new playable characters, headed by the companions found in the vanilla storyline. Plus, the developers are planning to create a solid experience out of the DLC, saving the best for the last. Ending the trailer is the Prompto DLC out sometime in June.

That's away from the Final Fantasy 15 DLC being released on the same day, which also makes Gladiolus a playable character and will also star Gilgamesh, one of the franchise's fan-favorite characters.

The image above shows an early look at the character creation tool. He described it as being intended for the forthcoming multiplayer mode, although it's possible these characters can be taken into single-player, too. Whether that means a full campaign built for multiplayer, or a spin-off of the main game with 4 players, is unclear, but the potential is certainly there.

"Final Fantasy 15" impressively sold 5 million unit at launch. An Xbox One version already is available for the public, and it indeed works. The game offers new gameplay elements that were not found in previous game titles. Once those two pieces are out - Episode Gladiolus is slated to release on March 28th - then the attention will likely shift to the multiplayer.
