Eric Trump slams Washington Post for calling vandalism 'daring act of defiance'

Under the cover of darkness early Sunday morning, a group of anonymous environmental activists broke into one of Donald Trump's golf courses and defaced the green in an act of civil disobedience.

The group that committed the act told the Post they carried out the vandalism because of the Trump administration's "blatant disregard" for the environment.

Sgt. Thomas Anderson of the Sheriff's Lomita station said authorities received a call about 8:30 a.m. about possible vandalism at the golf course.

Both the golf course and the Trump Organization in NY declined to comment on the vandalism.

The department said it was investigating whether the incident was an act of vandalism or something else, the Times reported.

In fact, an estimate by the Washington DC-based Judicial Watch says Trump and his family have cost the American taxpayers over $97m already - that's more than the Obama and Biden families did in eight years.

. "Repurposing what was once a lovely stretch of land into a playground for the privileged is an environmental crime in its own right".

Using rakes, the group carved a large swathe of the greens at the fifth hole with the message "No More Tigers, No More Woods", in a nod to championship golfer Tiger Woods.

"We hope this sends a message to Trump and his corrupt administration that their actions will be met with action", the member added.

Trump National Golf Club opened in November 2000 on a site that had been farmland.

Trump's first budget proposal includes a 25 percent cut to the EPA.

The president has been the target of scathing humor, both on "Saturday Night Live" - where he is regularly lampooned by Alec Baldwin - and by demonstrators across the country. In October, Black Lives Matter graffiti was left on the side of Trump's new Washington hotel.

The artist collective, known as INDECLINE, displayed a naked statue of the then-candidate in several cities, including Los Angeles, in August 2016.
