Falcons fans flip out on Twitter over Dontari Poe signing

He only garnered a one-year deal with $8 million for 2017.

The Falcons signed veteran defensive tackle Dontari Poe, according to multiple reports.

It sure seems like if the Chiefs wanted Poe and Poe wanted the Chiefs they could have made it happen.

Poe reportedly drew interest from several teams after becoming a free agent last week, including the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Instead, Poe opted to join Falcons assistant general manager Scott Pioli, the man who drafted Poe in the first round of 2012 as the former Kansas City Chiefs general manager, and ended up slightly closer to his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. He's recorded 200 tackles, 13 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 12 pass deflections, and has recorded 3 touchdowns.

But he had back surgery to fix a herniated disk in the summer of 2015. "He will add to our defensive line group and will mix nicely with Beasley, Jarrett, (Derrick) Shelby and Clayborn". He had spent his entire National Football League career on the defensive interior for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Poe, 26, has battled back problems the past two seasons but has only missed two games in his career. Dorsey signed Logan earlier this week to a 1-year, $8 million deal to replace Poe and help with the team's run defense along the line. He also rushed for and threw for a touchdown on gimmick plays called "Hungry Pig Right" and "Tebow Pop Pass".
