IPhone 8 Leaks Reveal Design Change?

The curved display is one of the hottest rumors circulating about the iPhone 8.

We will share more details about Apple iPhone 8 specs, features, design, price and release date as they become available. In the meanwhile, a report also claims the iPhone 8 will affect the Samsung Galaxy S8's sales. Sources in China have said that Apple is testing 10th anniversary handsets with both glass, aluminum, and ceramic outer casings and that use both OLED and standard TFT-LCD displays. But it's not going to happen, according to an industry analyst.

Apple is also expected to include wireless charging in the upcoming iPhone for the first time, suggesting that the technical difficulties that the company was experiencing have indeed been resolved.

STMicro, which I wrote about last week following interviews with the company, is expected by some to be a key player in production of so-called 3-D sensing, one of the hot new technologies rumored to be coming to iPhone.

IHS Markit analyst Wayne Lam says Apple could change the iPhone 8's display aspect ration from 16:9 to 2:1, and do away with the physical Home button. Apparently, some models are without the home button and there are others that have different designs based on glass, aluminum or white ceramic.

iPhone 8 is definitely among the biggest smartphone announcements to be made this year. A shiny or matte red is not yet known, but a red iPhone is definitely something Apple fans are looking for. "We also found that with curved displays, aka edge screens, users felt more exhausted holding the phone and had more erroneous touches". It will however come with 2.5D curved glass - something that is not new in iPhones and has been used in the devices since 2014's iPhone 6 - according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

"Much like the recently announced LG G6, we anticipate a touchscreen with a new longer aspect ratio design to take advantage of higher coverage area of the iPhone in its entirety", Lam continued. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone X is launched into the tech-verse, Gene Munster - divvying insights from his new research-driven, venture capital firm Loup Ventures - sees not only a rising desire for users to upgrade, but high interest in the air for augmented reality (AR). The latest claims are that the 10th anniversary edition will be called the "iPhone Edition" instead of the iPhone 8. Wireless charging for the iPhone 8 could mean Apple fans will no more envy Samsung counterparts who can simply leave a device to charge without any attached cords.
