TJ Lang signs three-year deal with Lions

He's probably the second best interior offensive lineman in this free agency period.

Lang has been a key cog in the Packers' offensive line for the past eight years, helping Green Bay win a Super Bowl in 2011 and earning Pro Bowl honors in 2016.

His agent tweeted out the news.

Lang underwent hip surgery this offseason to finally take care of a lingering issue he's dealt with the last few seasons, but says he'll be back on the field and ready to go by the start of training camp. Jahnke also said Lang's run-blocking grade went up in four straight seasons before his 2016 Pro Bowl campaign and wrote "the combination of his pass- and run-blocking landed him fifth on our list of starting guards last season". And just got back early this morning from a trip out to Seattle.

Lang said during the process that where to raise his family would be part of his decision process. "I was no different and when this opportunity came about I got really excited about it".

"It's been a wild ride".

The 29-year old guard who played some tackle earlier in his career also has an All-Pro mention from earlier in his career (Pro Football Focus, 2014), coming off his 8th season with the Packers after joining them in 2009 through the 4th round, coming out of Eastern Michigan. The free-agent market has been thinned out and offensive line is not considered a deep position in this year's draft.
