Lok Jansakti Party LJP, which had a legislator in last assembly election is fielding candidates in 12 assembly constituencies, Trinamool Congress field candidates in 10 Assembly constituencies, Manipur National Democratic Front (MNDF) field candidates in 10 assembly constituencies, North East India Democratic Party (NEIDP) field candidates in 8 assembly constituencies. There was only one case of violence, wherein a candidate, Erenedo, of the People's Resurgence and Justice Alliance, has claimed that he was assaulted by unknown people. The party is hoping to do well in both districts.

Chief election officer Vivek Kumar Dewangan said that as per information so far available, there was 84 per cent polling in the 38 constituencies across six districts.

The polling percentage in the 2012 UP elections was lower at 54.72%.

It has been alleged that the militant groups active in the State are being used by the political parties. Election watchers foresee a big role of money and muscle power. However in 2012 assembly elections, at least five people were killed in militant attacks.
