CGMA Alumni

CGMA is an excellent and affordable option for aspiring artists and professionals who want to build upon their skills. I took advantage of many classes during my Master studies at the University of Hertfordshire in order to develop my Master Thesis.

CGMA helped set up a strong understanding of anatomy, shape, and form which has benefited all my work as of now.

I took Storyboarding for Animation, and not only did I gain a greater knowledge of cinematic storytelling, I feel like I gained a better understanding of what professionals and studios look out for in a storyboard artist.

By learning from great teachers, I was able to increase my skills and artistic sense, as well as level up my demo reel and portfolio. It was a great way to specialize in a specific field and get familiar with industry-standard software.

CGMA offers amazing classes that are fun and informative, even for seasoned artists. Clinton's UE4 Modular Environment class taught me everything I needed to know to be able to branch out from film and also work in VR and now AAA games.

CGMA helps me to improve my facial rigging skills and inspire myself to work hard and achieve my goals like my instructor Wade Ryer.

What made the difference to me was the opportunity to talk each week with top-level teachers and learn directly from their experiences. The weekly lectures allowed me to work and study at the same time to get the job I always wanted.

I think the 1-on-1 connection with industry professional teachers is one of the best aspects of your courses. I got really useful tips and tricks not just regarding my work but also how to apply to a job or how to present my portfolio.

CGMA courses helped me stick to a structured schedule, motivating me to push myself further. I was also able to talk to industry professionals running the courses, which gave me an insight as to what the industry was like.

Through studying at CGMA I was not only eligible to enter The Rookies, but my skills had improved so much that I won a studio internship, kick-starting my career in the VFX industry. Even after my studies have ended, I've still been able to contact my lecturers to ask their opinions and advice in progressing in my career as an artist; their support has been invaluable.

When I started creating 3D Art for environments, I never really knew where to start. CGMA helped me by giving me a foundation to build up from. CGMA allowed me to connect with other artists who share the same passion for 3D Art as me. I still keep in contact with the instructors and show them other personal projects that I’m currently working on.

CGMA allow me the opportunity to meet industry professionals and learn industry-standard techniques. It also helped me push my craft and portfolio to industry quality.

The courses I undertook at CGMA with the excellent tutors Nate Wragg, Ty Carter and Miki Montllo helped me develop a strong portfolio through which I was able to get freelance work as an illustrator and animator, find a literary agent, and sign my first book contract.

Taking "Character Design for Production" and "Character Design for Animation" gave me a huge leg up in the animation industry. I was already animating for film and needed the extra push to be able to lend my skills in other areas of feature production I was passionate about, namely character design and development.

CGMA gave me good opportunities. For instance, recently I was able to get exposure due to CGMA helping me get my work published on 80Level. CGMA is a place to expand my possibilities.
