In an exclusive interview with The Charlotte Observer, Michael Jordan fired back at Larry Brown, who suggested Wednesday morning that Jordan’s top advisers “don’t have a clue”.

Brown was a guest on the Dan Patrick show and among other things, said “It was almost like there were spies wondering what you were doing and getting back to [Jordan].” He also suggested he didn’t have as much impact on the decision making process in the organization as he wanted, and that, “A coach, a GM, and a president all have to be joined at the hip.”

Jordan went out of his way to defend longtime partners team vice chairman, Curtis Polk and president of basketball operations, Rod Higgins and said, “It’s absolutely wrong that I don’t want guys to challenge me. And the people that say that aren’t in the room.”

He also said his team isn’t chasing ping pong balls.

Brown wasn’t too happy when he left Charlotte, and Jordan made their parting seem like a divorce between two unhappy middle class spouses

“I said, ‘You don’t look happy, and I don’t look happy. … I made the decision that neither one of us was happy,” Jordan told The Observer.

Jordan’s resume as a player is relatively spotless, and Brown won multiple championships as an NBA coach.

As an executive though, Jordan’s legacy is vomit tainted and growing more putrid every season; Between the Wizards and Bobcats, MJ has drafted such laughingstocks as Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison. He’s also whiffed on guys like Alexis Ajinca.

A 7’2″ 248 lb. center, Ajinca was picked number 20 overall in 2008. On the surface that choice doesn’t seem as bad as the first two. But, Charlotte traded a future first rounder to get him, and picked DJ Augustin ninth, when they could’ve picked Brook or Robin Lopez, JaVale McGee, or Roy Hibbert.

To make matters worse, they could’ve used the 20th pick on Ryan Anderson, Serge Ibaka or Nicolas Batum.

It’s ok if you’re forcing your head through a wall right now, I’ve already punched a few in mine.
