Friday was a career night for the Golden State Warriors (18-9). David Lee posted the third triple double of his career. Stephen Curry hit a career high eight three pointers as his father Dell Curry watched on from commentary.

The Warriors defeated the Charlotte Bobcats (7-19), to continue their surprising season. The Bobcats extended their winning streak to a league worst 14 games.

The Bobcats woes on both sides of the court continued, as the team shot 37% from the field and allowed their 12th straight game of 100 points or more. The Warriors shot 52%fg and 52% on 14 made three point shots.

Entering tonight’s game, the Bobcats were 30th in opp. threes made, 28th in opp. three-point percentage and 25th in opponents fg%. This month the Bobcats are allowing teams to shoot a league-worst 42% from three.

One of the few bright spots of the Bobcats offense was once again their free-throw advantage. The team was +19 in free throw attempts, with Gerald Henderson getting eight attempts.

Henderson led the Bobcats with 23 points, five assists and four rebounds. In the second half Henderson suffered a right shin contusion, and had to wear padding on his leg. Reports say Henderson has a big bump on his shin, and it’s questionable as to whether he’ll play tomorrow in Denver.

Bismack Biyombo had his first double double of the season, with 12 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. Ramon Sessions and Kemba Walker combined for 33 points. Ben Gordon sat out todays game with soreness in his knee, which isn’t believed to be serious.

After playing just below 10mpg in nine games with the Bobcats, Hakim Warrick played 24 minutes tonight. Warrick was acquired by the Bobcats from the New Orleans Hornets for Matt Carroll earlier this season.

Warrick had nine points, six rebounds, and could start getting more minutes with the Bobcats getting unreliable production from their frontcourt. Byron Mullens and Brendan Haywood combined for just one point in 38 combined minutes.

The Bobcats will conclude their road trip tomorrow in Denver against the Nuggets (14-13). Denver hasn’t been as good as most projected with the acquisition of Andre Iguodala, but are 7-1 at home. The Nuggets like to push the tempo, and have six scorers averaging double digits. These type of teams have given the Bobcats trouble this season with their ball movement and spacing, so it could be another tough test for the Bobcats to pull out a win.

Two teams heading in different directions squared off Monday, as the surging Golden State Warriors beat the Charlotte Bobcats 104-96. The Warriors were led by 25 points and 11 rebounds from David Lee, and 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists from Stephen Curry. The Warriors won their fourth straight game in a row and showed their improving defense under second-year head coach Mark Jackson.

The Bobcats were once again led by Kemba Walker, who finished with 24 points and 6 assists on the night. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. The Bobcats have lost eight in a row, and are now 1-11 when giving up 100 points or more on the season.

Entering tonight’s game the Bobcats were 28th in the league in opponents points per game. The Warriors shot 45% from the field and 40% from three, numbers that aren’t as high as recent Bobcats opponents stats.

How many ways can you beat a dead horse? The energy and effort seen at the beginning of the season just doesn’t seem to be there. Otherwise a defensive slide like this wouldn’t be happening. Coach Dunlap is tweaking with the lineups and trying to find something that will bring energy. Gana Diop wasn’t in the starting lineup tonight, but Biyombo kept his spot, to start alongside Byron Mullens.

It will be interesting to see if any more shuffles happen. Could Jeffery Taylor be next? Gerald Henderson was a starter at the beginning of the season and it wouldn’t be difficult to put him back in there. There’s a lot of things to consider for what the Bobcats need for their starters and Dunlap is mixing and matching and hoping for the best.

As I said in the last game recap, things aren’t going to get easier for this team in the midst of this losing streak. The Clippers come to Charlotte Wednesday, and the Bobcats head back to Atlanta to face the Hawks Thursday. Next week the Bobcats are on the road against the Lakers and their last matchup with the Warriors. Things could get worse from here on. Currently there just isn’t a lot of positives to take from these games. I’m just hoping it doesn’t become a repeat of last season.
