It was a crazy (controversial?) night, but in the end, it was the Celtics who came out on top in game four of the Eastern conference finals of the NBA playoffs.

LeBron James flopped Kevin Garnett into his third foul of the game just as Rajon Rondo was driving uncontested to the rim for a possible game winning layup with less than 25 seconds to play.

The King’s acting had no effect on the outcome of the first four quarters of play, though, because Udonis Haslem bricked a 15 foot jumper at the buzzer on the very next possession.

Then, in the opening minute of overtime, Paul Peirce bumped into Shane Battier, who, of course, went flying. Peirce fouled out.

But Karma would catch up to the King and his court.

Just a few minutes later, the game still hanging in the balance, James tried to post up Michael Pietrus, who, of course, fell down. James fell with him, and the officials called him for the charge.

It wasn’t the right call, but it felt right after the way regulation ended.

Rondo was special again, putting in a solid night’s work with 15 points, 15 assists and five rebounds. Pierce scored 23 and added six rebounds before his departure, and every Boston starter scored in double figures.

A report on ESPN says Chris Bosh could be back for game five in Miami if there are no set backs with his rehab.

The Oklahoma City Thunder tied up their Western conference finals series with the San Antonio Spurs in game four 109-103.

Durant had a near triple-double (36 points, eight assists and six rebounds) and Serge Ibaka went 11 of 11 from the floor on his way to a 26 point, five rebound, three block performance.

The game was an all-out slug fest, though.

Both teams shot at least 50 percent from the floor, the Spurs hit 11 threes, and neither team was too loose with the ball.

The game was won on the boards (OKC out-rebounded the Spurs by 10) and because of how the Thunder got their points; San Antonio had 17 assists compared to Oklahoma City’s 27. The Thunder got more easy looks out of the flow of their offense, and the Spurs had to rely on their players getting creative in order to score.

That series will switch back to San Antonio for game five tonight at 9 p.m. on TNT.

Rajon Rondo shined in the NBA playoffs once again, and who would’ve thought? Certainly not this guy, who wrote a little somethin’ somethin’ about the Celtics PG being the best at his position in the league yesterday.

Number nine scored 21 points, dished out 10 assists and pulled down six rebounds on the way to a 101-91 Celtics win over the Heat in game three of the Eastern conference finals.

Rondo also shot 56 percent from the floor and nabbed a pretty steal in transition to thwart the James-to-Wade highlight show.

Kevin Garnett was pretty good too. He dropped 24 (points) and 11 (rebounds) and finished the night a +27.

Miami missed ten of its 20 free-throws and shot just 29 percent from behind the arc.

After destroying the Spurs in game three of the Western conference finals, Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook and James Harden wil try to tie the series up in game four tonight.

The Thunder rode a balanced offensive attack (five players in double figures) and a nasty (to steal a great word from Spurs coach Greg Popovich) defensive effort (19 forced turnovers) to victory the last time out.

Tonight it’ll probably take a little more offensively from their Big Three if they’re going to escape the wrath of the Spurs for a second straight game.

The worst season in NBA history is in the books, and it’s time to look at the players who made it all possible.

In the coming days I’ll take a look at every single Bobcats player (and I mean every single one), grade their season, and take a look into their future.

The other day I looked at DJ White’s (mediocre-at-best) season. Today, it’s Boris Diaw’s turn.

Offense: D+

There once was a man in the NBA who played the forward-center position, even though he was a severely undersized 5. After his first two seasons in the league, his true shooting percentage (takes into account free-throws and three pointers) never dipped below 50 percent. Until this year.

Even with such accuracy, he never averaged more than 14.4 points per 36 minutes. He was a good passer, though, and throughout his career he’s averaged just under 4.5 assists per 36 minutes.

Those assists usually came at the expense of the rest of his offense; He would constantly pass up wide open jumpers to *try* and thread a razor sharp pass under the rim to a teammate. This might have something to do with why he averaged close to 2.5 turnovers per 36 minutes.

His name was Boris Diaw, and I painted that long and pointless picture to tell you that in short, a guy who was an average scorer and passer throughout his career, magically became a below-average-to-dreadful scorer and thought he was a point guard in his final season with the Bobcats.

His per 36 scoring numbers dropped to 9.6, but his per 36 assist numbers hovered around six the entire year.

His coach benched him for an extended period of time leading up to the all star break, and for some unfathomable reason, when the Bobcats couldn’t trade him, they let him walk… to the San Antonio Spurs… who could very well win the NBA championship this year… Are you kidding me?

What’s freaking hilarious is the fact that with Charlotte in 2012, his offensive rating was a *&$#@#ing 89, but with the Spurs, it’s now 111. I know San Antonio runs a much better offensive system than Charlotte, but come on.

Defense: F

This stat cannot be explained by a system. It can only be explained by effort.

Boris Diaw’s defensive rating with Charlotte this season was 111. With San Antonio it’s 102. That’s nine points fewer per 100 possessions that Diaw’s giving up. Those nine points could have been the difference between Charlotte being the worst NBA team ever or being the second, or maybe even third worst team ever.

AND CHARLOTTE LET HIM WALK TO A CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER!

Miscellaneous: F

Perhaps (definitely) I’m being harsh.

Diaw had a pretty decent rebound percentage, grabbing 11 percent of available boards while he was on the floor. He averaged 1.2 steals and half a block per 36 minutes and averaged just 2.5 fouls per 36 minutes.

But i’m failing him here partially because his turnover percentage (turnovers per 100 possessions) was 22 percent, and mostly because after the way he performed this year for the Bobcats, he doesn’t deserve anything better than an F.

Overall: F

I’ve said just about all I can say here.

The Spurs gained one more hater by picking up Diaw.
